Hi Kyung Eun is an independent artist based in the Netherlands and Korea. She is interested in an individual's fluidity and in-betweenness in the contemporary context.

For her, herself is a specimen for the study of contemporary life. Her work starts from studying the very realistic and mundane incidents in everyday life - moving from this region to the other region, YouTube addiction etc. By writing a short text like a poem about them, she navigates the subjective reality in the bigger social phenomena, such as diaspora or digitalization.

Through the language of sculpture, painting, and installation, she experiments with ambiguous boundaries between physical and virtual, light and heavy, and moving and fixed. And she observes, collects, and reproduces fragments of senses, cognitions, and emotions.

In the process of translating reality to her own hyperreal, she looks for a poetic moment where the work and audience are connected.
